Surfs Up!!

Yeah...!!!!if you want to picture this..I'm running to the ocean....in my mind.  I'm there..I'm so there I need to brush the sand off my feet.  I understand how the spring breakers of college past have felt.  I'm one of 'em now.

I'm soooo getting ready, this has been the most challenging time for me, I'm trying to cram large seeds of information into a quarter cup.  Remember when feeding your babies how they keep spitting out what they can't take in and you keep shoving it back in.  Yep, you got it.  I'm spitting and a shovin' ha!

I'm not spending a week at the beach, one day will suffice.  I don't like crowds.  I especially don't like the worry about cars running over me.  Last year it seemed to be a record  setting year of run overs.  Anyways,  I have my week planned, but the best laid plans of mice and men might just get in the way so I know enough about flexibility and not overdoing it.  This past week reminded me of that when my back went out on me.  I was so dang mad, the last thing I needed to do was miss school.  I have read almost two fiction books because sitting wasn't an option.  I couldn't even get on the computer.
When you are on your back you have time to think and sometimes I believe these things happen so you can look at your life in retrospect.  Okay God you got my attention...I'm all ears.  I've contemplated a number of things I've been avoiding or thought a postponement was in order and now I'm trying to make sure my "feelings" haven't changed.  Feelings.  They are much more than a song, and are not to be trusted.  You cannot rely on feelings.  Mine change like the tide
So right now I'm more concerned with my back healing and my yard sale taking place, and that's about it.  Everything else can fall into place as HE sees fit.  A spring break shouldn't be structured like school  it should be flexible.  So I'm flexing, actually, my back still is healing but you get the idea...

Speaking of spring break, have you ever watched the Frankie Avalon and Annette Funnicello movies?
They were "the most" in the '60's.  From todays standards they're so tame.  If you want to know what it was like for you older relatives in the dark ages, grab them, grab a blanket, some popcorn and Beach Blanket Bingo and while you're at it,  throw the Beach Boys on the Hi Fi.   It's so retro its fun watching the dances, fashion, lingo and hairstyles from then.  Cool man, it's like wow!  I know it's corny...but hey...

The New Numbers

What a quiet day, the beginning of my new year.  Even the numbers are new...1...1....11....see ? all new!

Here's a toast to all of you, wishing everyone who read this health, love, peace, contentment, and a full belly.

What?  no diet..it is the beginning of January, and we will be slammed with a zillion commercials and ads to diet,  to exercise our brains out..well more like our butts..
All because of a New Years Resolution...which I refuse to make, I already knew coming into this year I had things I needed to do and no amount of the general media is going to influence me.  I don't need them.

A change is gonna come...it's well on it's way anyhow ...hey, I can hum the tune...but right now more importantly I'm rehearsing the song.

Happy New Year
Y'all!

Happy Birthday Cory

Thirty three years ago around 1:00 pm after a grueling day and a half of labor pains I gave birth to an 8lb. 9 oz. bouncing baby boy.  We named him Cory B. Lambert, and he grew into an inquisitive, clever, interesting, ornery, smart, still learning young man.   At present he is a hard working sous chef paying his dues in a very nice restaurant near the Capital.  The info doesn't stop there, he is also married to a beautiful and intelligent woman, named Rita,  who is busy in varying degrees to help him with his climb up the literal food chain.  You know the old saying behind every sucessful man is an even more successful woman....
Some of his antics still leave us shaking our heads and I must admit, the apple doesn't fall far from the tree.  If you really want to know...it has created a whole vat of apple sauce...to be sure....
Anyway...I'd love to be able to post a few of his stories but this isn't what it is all about...it is more about wishing my first born a pleasant, safe, Happy Birthday...oh and I also forgot to send a  card...for shame...

Come on.... sing us a song!

I have a friend that has a party surrounding him from the moment he wakes up and usually he wakes with a song in his head,  it doesn't matter if the words rhyme or fit like a puzzle piece. He'll take that one word and jam it in to fit. If anyone else tried that it would sound stupid.
He gets away with literary murder.
On any day, but more specifically mornings, when serious is only found in the dictionary, he will spew forth an overflow of words only a high priced plumber could love or enough to keep my grandmother busy with soap in hand.
A saint he isn't in that respect, unless you're looking at all the care that oozes from his heart towards causes that are bigger than all of us.
I picture him as the pied piper of fun.
and if memory serves me
he once was.
(It's an inside joke.)
So carry on, make your music and give us a jammin' song.
I almost can't wait for my birthday. LOL
